Good example of an early on-location show.
According to my 1979 version of "The Complete Directory to Prime Time Network TV Shows," this series was first broadcast in 1949 on CBS as Man Against Crime. In October 1953, it left CBS and was simulcast on both NBC and DuMont, staying on DuMont until April 1954 and on NBC until July 1954. It returned to NBC from July to August, 1956, with Frank Lovejoy as Mike Barnett. It was done live until the fall of 1952, then went to film, with all filmed episodes being done at the Edison studios in the Bronx and on location around New York. there are several more episodes on www.solie.org/ClassicTV/. Lots of fun, four stars worth, watching the old location work.
